PPUR campaign is creativity at its best – Banayo

PUERTO PRINCESA CITY, 14 November (PIA) -- “The campaign for the Underground River in the New 7 Wonders of Nature is creativity at its best,” said
NFA Administrator Angelito Banayo, who spoke before more than a thousand delegates to the recently concluded 3rd National Cooperative TEAM Shop held in Puerto Princesa City.
Speaking hours before the deadline for voting, Administrator Banayo said “manalo, matalo (pero I’m sure mananalo), kilalang-kilala na ang Puerto Princesa Underground River all over the world”.
NFA Administrator Banayo was the Keynote Speaker in the Opening Program of the biennial cooperative event with the theme: “Philippine Cooperatives: Building Strategies in Response to Globalization."
In his speech, he spoke of creativity and consolidation as the key elements to respond to globalization. He cited, as example, the promotion campaign of the PPUR in the New 7 Wonders of Nature.
“In the next 10 years and even beyond, Palawan and Puerto Princesa City will reap the benefit of entering into a contest that puts the Underground River into the world tourism map,” he said.
He said that without creativity and innovation, a cooperative or any organization will find it hard to compete in the global market.
He said that there are examples of creativity at work in many cooperatives in the country.
Consolidating all these, he said, will be the challenge to cooperatives for it to fulfill its vision as an engine for growth and prosperity in the countryside. (vsm/pia-palawan)
