Airline company set to open new routes to and from Clark

CLARK FREEPORT, March 2 (PIA) -- An airline company is set to launch four new routes to and from the Clark International Airport starting March 29.

Airphil Express senior vice president for sales and marketing Alfredo Herrera said that the new trips are from Clark to Cebu, Davao, Kalibo and Puerto Princesa.

The Clark to Cebu route will fly twice in the morning on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays while the Clark to Davao route will fly twice in the morning every Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

Moreover, the Clark to Kalibo route will fly four times a day, twice in the morning and twice in the afternoon every Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.

The Clark to Puerto Princesa route shall also fly four times every Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

“With its highly improved road network and increasing flights, Clark is setting out to become a key entry point of foreign tourists to the Philippines as well as a major hub for business,” Herrera said.

Herrera added, “Aside from being part of the company’s growth plans this 2012, one other reason why we have decided to offer flights from Clark is so we may bring our services closer to the people of Pampanga and the nearby areas. It goes hand in hand with our commitment to help spur growth for the country’s economy via the promotion of local tourism in the area.”

Airphil Express currently operates 32 domestic routes across the archipelago and serves the Manila to Singapore and Cebu to Hong Kong international routes.

Earlier this year, the company purchased three 180-seater Airbus A320s to accommodate its new trips. (WLB/CLJD-PIA3)
