Oriental Mindoro bagged the last semi-final slot in volleyball (boys, secondary) against Occidental Mindoro, having two sets won in a row, 25-18 and 25-17 at the Ramon Mitra, Jr. Sports Complex, April 9.
While the spikers from the west had exhibited their effective offenses, the eastern team was busy to figure out how to outmaneuver it, but despite their efforts, Oriental emerged victorious. The latter would be facing Palawan blockers in the final game, April 10.
Dansen Fulgar of Occidental said “they lack defense, besides, the rivals are taller than us,” he added. “They should do well for it is still Mindoro’s pride,” he told other Tamaraw players, showing an athlete’s sportsmanship.
However, Johnwendel Magpili, coach of Oriental Mindoro said they are confident of winning over Palawan.
