Region VI’s golden lady Maika de Oro broke the meet’s 32.45 meters record of Central Visayas’ Nina Marie Lumapaz in 2000 in the discus throw, girls – secondary category by 0.17 meter farther to win the gold.

Ira Marie Hernandez of Calabarzon listed 30.31 meters to place second while Central Luzon’s Geneva Calma was third with 29.03 meters
Only last year, de Oro, still competing in the elementary division, registered 33.07 meters to surpass the Pambansa record of 30.38 set by Jihan Badojos of Cagayan Valley in 1988.

In the elementary boy’s division, Aries Camporondo of the Cotabato Region failed to even equal the meet record of 36.12 but he still managed to snatch the gold.

Western Visayas Region’s Richee Joy Cabanyog and Gilbert Dave Pamplona who registered 28.75 meters and 26.97m finished second and third respectively.
