Representatives of the Commission on Human Rights (CHR) Central Office, Policy Linkages Office, Campaign and Advocacy Division paid a courtesy call on Puerto Princesa City Mayor Lucilo R. Bayron today, August 12, 2026, at the City Mayor’s Office.
During the meeting, CHR introduced its initiative for the possible establishment of a Human Rights Action Center (HRAC) in Puerto Princesa City. The proposed center aims to strengthen the promotion and protection of human rights at the local level and provide the public with more accessible assistance on human rights-related concerns.
Mayor Bayron welcomed the initiative and expressed the City Government’s openness to the proposed establishment of the HRAC, recognizing its potential to complement the city’s continuing efforts toward responsive governance and the protection of the rights and welfare of every Puerto Princesan.
