MAYOR BAYRON WELCOMES GRAB TO PUERTO PRINCESA, HIGHLIGHTS TRANSPORT CONVENIENCE, BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES

Mayor Lucilo R. Bayron welcomed Grab Philippines to Puerto Princesa City as a new partner in providing more convenient, accessible, reliable, and safe transport and delivery services, while opening additional opportunities for local businesses and workers.

During the Grab Asenso: A Digital Diskarte Program held on September 29 at Hue Hotel, Mayor Bayron said the entry of Grab reflects the continuing growth of Puerto Princesa and the private sector’s confidence in the local economy.

“The presence of more transport and delivery services is an indication of the continuing growth of Puerto Princesa. It also shows the trust and confidence of the private sector in our economy and our readiness to receive new investments and opportunities,” Mayor Bayron said.

The Mayor noted that Grab’s services can provide residents and visitors with another convenient transport option while helping restaurants, food establishments, and other local businesses reach more customers through delivery services and increase their sales.

The arrival of new private-sector players such as Grab also complements the City Government’s efforts to respond to the needs of residents, businesses, and the tourism sector.

The Grab Asenso program gathered merchant-partners and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to introduce digital tools, online platforms, and technologies that can help them expand their markets and grow their businesses.

The program is part of Grab’s partnership with the International Trade Centre under Digital PINAS, with Puerto Princesa among the regional cities included in the Grab Asenso Learning Caravans.

Meanwhile, Grab is developing its local network of motorcycle delivery partners and vehicles undergoing the necessary process for its transport services in the city.

Mayor Bayron thanked Grab Philippines for choosing Puerto Princesa and expressed optimism that the partnership would contribute to the city’s transport, delivery, business, and tourism sectors.

“To Grab Philippines, thank you for believing in Puerto Princesa and for becoming our partner in transport and food delivery. Let us continue working together to make Puerto Princesa a more livable, progressive, business-friendly and tourist-friendly city,” Mayor Bayron said.
