Atty. Teodoro C. Pascua, Director General of the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL), together with Atty. Christine Pangilinan-Canlapan, Director IV of the Bureau of Legal Affairs and Supervising Director of the IP Rights Enforcement Office (IEO), paid a courtesy call on Mayor Lucilo R. Bayron today, September 16, 2026, at the City Mayor’s Office.
Joining Mayor Bayron during the meeting were members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod, led by Vice Mayor Peter “Jimbo” Q. Maristela.
During the meeting, the IPOPHL officials discussed initiatives to strengthen the promotion, protection, and enforcement of intellectual property rights, particularly efforts against piracy and counterfeit goods.
Their visit to Puerto Princesa coincides with the Intellectual Property Workshop for Law Enforcement Agents and Prosecutors with Product Identification, being conducted from September 16 to 18, 2026.
