WELCOME LIGA NG MGA BARANGAY OF OAS, ALBAY

Mayor Lucilo R. Bayron welcomed the delegation of the Liga ng mga Barangay of Oas, Albay, composed of 44 Punong Barangays, during a courtesy call held at the City Mayor’s Office today, March 26, 2026, as part of their benchmarking activity.

The delegation chose Puerto Princesa as their benchmark site in recognition of the city’s effective governance, strong peace and order initiatives, and innovative community-based programs under the leadership of Mayor Bayron. They aim to learn and adopt best practices that can further strengthen service delivery in their respective barangays.

During the meeting, Mayor Bayron shared the City Government’s key development priorities, highlighting efforts to strengthen cruise ship, MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions), and sports tourism, alongside agriculture and fisheries, infrastructure development, and healthcare services as key drivers of growth and development.

The Mayor noted that activities such as benchmarking visits reflect the city’s growing role as a destination for MICE, where knowledge-sharing, collaboration, and institutional learning take place alongside tourism and economic activity.

He emphasized the important role of barangay leaders in delivering services and addressing the needs of their communities.

The visiting barangay captains expressed their appreciation for the opportunity to gain valuable insights from Puerto Princesa’s initiatives, which they hope to replicate in their respective localities.

Mayor Bayron reaffirmed the City Government’s openness to sharing knowledge and fostering partnerships with fellow local government units, promoting collaboration towards more progressive and resilient communities.
