MV LUMINARA MAKES MAIDEN CALL IN PUERTO PRINCESA, MAYOR BAYRON HIGHLIGHTS CRUISE TOURISM GOAL

Puerto Princesa City marked a significant milestone today, January 20, 2026, with the first-ever arrival of the ultra-luxury expedition superyacht MV LUMINARA, carrying over 200 guests, further strengthening the city’s position as a premier cruise tourism destination in the country.

The MV LUMINARA is an ultra-luxury expedition superyacht designed for high-end travelers, offering exclusive voyages, premium amenities, and the capability to access remote and pristine destinations.

Puerto Princesa City Mayor Lucilo R. Bayron personally visited and inspected the MV LUMINARA upon its arrival, warmly welcoming the vessel and its distinguished guests to the city. During the visit, Mayor Bayron led a symbolic key-giving ceremony, personally handing the Key of the City to the cruise ship, signifying that the MV LUMINARA and its guests are always welcome to return to Puerto Princesa City anytime.

According to Mayor Bayron, the maiden call of the MV LUMINARA reflects the growing global confidence in Puerto Princesa, noting that the city is now attracting not only world-class cruise ships but also some of the wealthiest travelers from around the world.
