Author Michael Angelo A. Doblado paid a courtesy call on Mayor Lucilo R. Bayron on October 15, 2026, in connection with his book, “Puerto Princesa and Palawan: Shared History and Heritage: Old Poblacion Sites and Narratives.”
The publication is a project of the City Government of Puerto Princesa through the City Tourism Office’s Culture and Arts Program, together with the Palawan State University–Palawan Studies Center and the Local Historical Committee Network.
Under Mayor Bayron’s leadership, the project supports efforts to preserve local history and promote heritage tourism by making the stories behind the city’s historical landmarks more accessible to residents and visitors.
Featuring 15 important cultural properties, the book explores their significance in the shared history of Puerto Princesa and Palawan. It draws on primary and secondary sources to provide reliable historical narratives that can enrich guided tours and local history education.
The publication serves as a reference for tour guides, teachers, students, heritage advocates, and visitors, encouraging greater appreciation of the places and stories that helped shape the city’s identity.
