Yesterday, Majority Floor Leader Hon. Jonjie Rodriguez reported that the third and final reading of the City Council has approved the institutionalization of the ₱6,000 quarterly allowance for our teachers and non-teaching staff. Thank you very much to the entire City Council for taking care of this ordinance.
This means that the City Government of Puerto Princesa is now permanently providing a monthly allowance of ₱2,000 or ₱24,000 to teachers and non-teaching staff in public schools for one year.
We know that a teacher’s salary is not just for them. Often, our teachers and non-teaching personnel contribute their own money to help with the various needs of their students.
Through this program, we ensure that even if we are no longer the Mayor or if someone else is the Mayor, the support for our teachers and non-teaching personnel will continue.
Because giving importance to our teachers and non-teaching personnel is also for the good future of our children, the heirs of the City of Puerto Princesa.
Once again, happy teachers’ day. On behalf of the City Government of Puerto Princesa, you can be assured that we will continue to provide support to the education sector.
For our teachers.
For our children.
For a Progressive Puerto Princesa.
