The officials of MICE Alliance of Puerto Princesa Palawan philippines (MAPPPP) had a courtesy call with Mayor Lucilo R. Bayron on July 27, 2026, to express their desire to be a partner of the local government in promoting MICE tourism in the city.
MICE is a term that refers to Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions. It is a type of tourism that brings large gatherings, conferences, exhibits, and other business events to a single destination. In addition to increasing the number of visitors, it also opens up more opportunities for local hotels, restaurants, transport providers, event organizers, and other small businesses in the city.
According to MAPPPP President Cleo Diomampo, the organization’s goal is to be a partner of the local government in promoting more MICE events in Puerto Princesa and in advancing local MICE suppliers.
“Our goal is to be the partner of Puerto Princesa City Government in matters related to MICE. We want to bring events to the city and promote our MICE suppliers,” said MAPPPP President Cleo Diomampo.
Mayor Bayron warmly welcomed their initiative and reiterated his administration’s support for promoting tourism in the city.
“That’s right, sell Puerto Princesa City,” Mayor Bayron said.
MICE tourism is one of the main priorities of Mayor Bayron’s administration in promoting tourism, including Sports Tourism, Ecotourism, Cruise Tourism, and Seafood Tourism.
Through the continued collaboration between the local government and the private sector, more national and international gatherings are expected to be held in Puerto Princesa, providing more jobs, more businesses, and broader opportunities for Puerto Princesan residents.
