
“Where are you going, Puerto Princesa?” ” or “Where is Puerto Princesa going? “
This is the question that Mayor Lucilo R. answered. Bayron at the 2026 Budget Forum held, where he laid out City Government’s key programs and projects for 2027 until the end of his 2028 term.
According to Mayor Bayron, the goal of his administration is to further develop Puerto Princesa by also developing the following sectors:
• Tourism
• Agriculture & Fisheries
• Infrastructure
• Governance
• Social Services
• Public Safety & Protection
• Environmental Protection
The mayor also highlighted programs that will encourage more businesses and investment in the city. According to him, the more businesses come in, the more jobs, the stronger the economy, and more opportunities for citizens.
TOURISM
In relation to the continuous boost of tourism, Gastro-tourism particularly Seafood Culinary Tourism will be added in addition to existing developments in Eco-tourism, MICE tourism, Sports tourism and Cruise tourism.
It is also planned to make the city’s ‘anchor destinations’ such as Puerto Princesa Underground River and Honda Bay, as well as the Baywalk. The plan also includes the construction of some infrastructures such as Sabang Wharf for greater convenience of tourists visiting the city. Mayor Bayron also laid out plans to grow Eco-tourism, MICE tourism, Sports tourism and Cruise tourism.
𝗔𝗚𝗥𝗜𝗖𝗨𝗟𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗘 & 𝗙𝗜𝗦𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗜𝗘𝗦
The agriculture and fisheries sector will continue to provide support through the construction and expansion of markets, fish ports, farm-to-market roads, and other facilities to assist farmers and fishermen.
𝗜𝗡𝗙𝗥𝗔𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗨𝗖𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗘
In the field of infrastructure, the construction of roads, drainage systems, solar street lights, and other projects that will improve and speed up services in the city will continue.
𝗚𝗢𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗡𝗔𝗡𝗖𝗘
The implementation of the nine (9) Caring Programs of the City Government will continue and the continuous improvement and expansion of the delivery services of Mini City Halls and Enhance Satellite Clinics will not lose the priority in order to further strengthen the advancement of the advocacy “Bringing Government Closer to the People. ” Related to this, the target is to strengthen the firefighting capability of Mini City Halls among other plans.
𝗦𝗢𝗖𝗜𝗔𝗟 𝗦𝗘𝗥𝗩𝗜𝗖𝗘𝗦
This includes the health, education, and social service sectors. Preventive healthcare, the operation of health facilities, the city’s nine Caring Programs, and education and housing programs for those in need.
𝗣𝗨𝗕𝗟𝗜𝗖 𝗦𝗔𝗙𝗘𝗧𝗬 & 𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗧𝗘𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡
There is currently a 1:394 Police to Population Ratio to ensure a safer and better Puerto Princesa for all. In relation to this, the City Government will continue to support the City PNP.
𝗘𝗡𝗩𝗜𝗥𝗢𝗡𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗔𝗟 𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗧𝗘𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡
Administration’s direction also includes environmental protection, expanding environmental programs, and improving solid waste management.
In his message, Mayor Bayron acknowledged that all planned projects may not be realized before his term ends. However, he believes many of these can be achieved if every office and every Puerto Princesan cooperated.
“Let’s work together to make this direction a reality for a more developed and progressive city where no one will be left behind… for the people of Puerto Princesa,” and Mayor Bayron.
