This is the message of Mayor Lucilo R. Bayron to senior citizens at the start of the celebration of Elderly Filipino Week this October 1 at Balayong People’s Park.
The mayor emphasized the importance of care and love for grandparents to make their golden years better.
He also shared the planned increase in their allowance to ₱6,000 next year and the transition to digital distribution through the Development Bank of the Philippiphilippinesimula in the fourth quarter this year.
In relation to this, the mayor asked for an initial understanding of possible errors while fixing the new process. He explained that the City Government needs to follow government policies regarding the distribution of allowances.
“I am asking for your initial understanding. Once we fix the process, the distribution of your allowances will continue,” said Mayor Bayron.
Before it ends, the mayor extended his greetings to all the elderly for Elderly Filipino Week, which is commemorated every October 1 to 7.
