The Chairperson of the People’s Council of Quezon City, Mr. Brian James Lu, paid a courtesy call on Mayor Lucilo R. Bayron at the City Mayor’s Office on September 10, 2026.
Lu was accompanied by Puerto Princesa City Local People’s Council Chairperson Dr. Romeo A. Valdez, who led the council’s benchmarking visit to Quezon City last August to learn about practices and initiatives that promote greater citizen participation in local governance.
During the meeting, they discussed opportunities to further strengthen collaboration and knowledge-sharing between the people’s councils of Puerto Princesa and Quezon City, including the possibility of the Quezon City People’s Council conducting a benchmarking activity in Puerto Princesa.
Mayor Bayron welcomed the continued exchange of ideas and expressed his support for efforts that encourage greater participation of civil society organizations and communities in local governance.
