This was the directive of Puerto Princesa City Mayor Lucilo R. Bayron to Office of the City Engineer after he personally inspected on Saturday, June 27, 2026, the six main drainage projects in various parts of the city.

“If possible, we have no suspension. Construction should continue.” said Mayor Bayron.

Among the projects visited by the mayor were the Jacana, Barangay Bancao-Bancao; Wescom Road in Barangay San Miguel; Delos Reyes Road and Peneyra Road in Barangay San Pedro; and Buhanginan and Sea Road 1 in Barangay San Manuel.

During the inspection, the mayor personally inspected the condition and quality of each project. He emphasized the importance of immediate response to issues affecting the implementation of the projects to avoid further delays and ensure that they are continued for the benefit of Puerto Princesa residents.

At the same time, Mayor Bayron also inquired about the production of culverts used in the drainage projects and assured that there is sufficient supply to avoid delays in the construction.

“The mayor emphasized the importance of ensuring proper documentation of public consultations and other important issues related to the projects. He also emphasized the importance of promptly resolving permits and other necessary processes to avoid delays in the implementation of the projects.”

In the end, Mayor Bayron emphasized the importance of continuing the projects without delay so that residents can immediately benefit from the improvements in the drainage system and other urban planning steps in the city.
