Mayor Lucilo R. Bayron met with Embassy of Canada officials, Deputy Program Manager and Trade Commissioner Ms. Eleonore Rupprecht and Trade Commissioner for Infrastructure Mr. Dodjie Fabian, during a courtesy call held on March 17, 2026 at the City Mayor’s Office, together with City Planning Officer Engr. Jovenee Sagun.
The meeting focused on exploring potential areas of cooperation between Canada and the City Government of Puerto Princesa, particularly in sustainable infrastructure, clean energy, digital connectivity, and urban development.
In line with this, the Canadian officials shared smart solutions aimed at improving traffic management and public safety, along with eco-friendly initiatives and waste-to-energy technologies.
They also expressed their willingness to hold a separate meeting with the City Government to further discuss these initiatives and explore possible partnerships.
Mayor Lucilo R. Bayron welcomed the proposed initiatives and expressed the City Government’s openness to strengthening partnerships that support sustainable and innovative development in Puerto Princesa.
