AMIDST THE cool weather of the early morning sun, Linda Marie Santos of Puerto Princesa City blasted Kristia Kenept of Occidental Mindoro, 8-0, in Tennis Singles held April 8 at Palawan National School Tennis Court.

Early in the first set, Santos smashed her rival with stunning ball placements leaving her opponent behind. She took the advantage of an early lead, 3-0, during the first set of the game.

On the second set, Santos handed Kenept booming serves and overcome her own tense moment, down 6-0.

The crowd was turning in stillness scrutiny as the ball arched from the server to the receiver, thinking if Kenept can still catch up from the big difference of her opponent’s score.

Never giving an inch of chance to the rival, Santos advanced to the next game making Kenept fail to gain a score, 8-0.

“She is a good tennis player for she keeps her focus on the game,” Kenept said.

“Based on my opponent’s performance I sensed that she was doing her best, luckily I have won,” Santos said after the match.
