PUERTO PRINCESA CITY, Palawan, January 5 (PIA) -- The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)-Palawan will conduct on January 19 an integration planning with local government unit partners to jumpstart the implementation of Project GRACE, a convergence approach to enhance livelihood, employment, and business interventions in the community.

The participants will come from the Economic Enterprise Development Staff and planning officers, who have signified their commitment to support project GRACE (Generating Resources of Agencies for Community Enterprises).

The towns are Brooke’s Point, Sofronio Española, Aborlan, Quezon, Roxas, San Vicente, Taytay, and El Nido.

Through this planning activity, each participant can come up with an integrated development program for service-oriented eco-tourism projects and production or manufacturing ventures to be supported by the DTI, Department of Science and Technology (DOST), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), and the Department of Agriculture.

As a convergence approach, Project GRACE ensures that there will be no duplication of assistance, financial or technical, to micro-small and medium enterprises and other project beneficiaries resulting to cost-efficiency,cost-effectiveness and competitiveness.

Project GRACE is unique to the MIMAROPA region where the five regional directors of the DTI, DA,DOST,DOLE and TESDA agreed to a convergence of efforts, which is also one of the strategies embodied in the Philippine Development Plan.

The one-day planning activity will be held at the Governor’s Conference Room at the Provincial Capitol. (VSM/PIA-Palawan)
