On November 28 and December 11, 2018, Puerto the Princesa City Business One Stop Shop Technical Working Group (TWG) met to prepare for next year’s business registration process. USAID’s Strengthening Urban Resilience for Growth with Equity (SURGE) Project provided information on the draft Implementing Rules and Regulations of the Ease of Doing Business Law or Republic Act 11032. To comply, the TWG presented strategies such as the use of Facebook messenger, which will provide online business permitting information to the public, and the Bureau of Fire Protection’s implementation of the 365-day issuance of Fire Safety Inspection Certificate, which will provide ease to businesses that already secured their clearance. All concerned offices and agencies were requested to submit their negative list of delinquent businesses for consolidation and posting. The TWG will release the compiled negative list on or before December 15 so that businesses can prepare and complete their requirements. Moreover, the city government will provide a larger space for co-location of offices of Patrol 117, city tourism, building official, zoning, city health, city assessor and fire protection in time for the business registration period in January 2019. The city government will also issue a resolution for tourism and sanitary clearances and permits to be valid within 365 days from issuance. It will also organize radio and television announcements as part of its information dissemination to facilitate the conduct of a business registration dry run on December 26 to 27, 2018.
