Puerto Princesa, Jan. 20 CIO - The Office of the Ombudsman presented the Blue Certification Award to City Government of Puerto Princesa on January 18, 2017 at the OMB Hearing Room in Agham Road Diliman, Quezon City.

 

Mayor Bayron expressed his appreciation to the Office of the Ombudsman for recognizing the effort of the City Government in providing efficient and effective public services to Puerto Princesans. He also mentioned that the City Government will continue to upgrade and give the best public services to the people.

 

The Blue Certification (Level 1) Award certifies that the Business Permits and Licensing Office (BPLO) of City of Puerto Princesa has implemented and maintains a system that conforms to the standard of doing business with the government. The scope of this certification includes Registration of New Businesses and Renewal of Business Permits. The date of certification covers the period of January 18, 2017 to January 17, 2020.

 

According to Overall Deputy Ombudsman Carandang, the Cities of Iloilo, Marikina and Cagayan de Oro are also recipients of Blue Certification (Level III). Office of the Ombudsman as lead anti-corruption agency in the Philippines conducted the same assessment and evaluation to several cities and provinces in the country,  but others failed or did not met the standards set by the Ombudsman.

 

Melchor Arthur H. Carandang, Overall Deputy Ombudsman; Mothalib C. Onos, Acting Director, RSSB; Alan R. Cañares, Director, MOLEO (PACCB) and the team of evaluators composed of Sally R. Gimapayan, GIO II; Glenn B. Barcenas, GIO I; Maria Edna S. Urriza, GIO I; Emmanuel Rex Arvin N. Roseus, AGIO III; and Vilma C. Lavares, AGIO II presented the Award to Mayor Lucilo R. Bayron of Puerto Princesa. Carlos G. Abogado, Acting Assistant City Administrator and Karl M. Bayron, Executive Assistant IV were also present during the ceremony.
