PUERTO PRINCESA CITY, Dec. 19 (PIA) -- Western Command (WESCOM) is pushing for a stronger inter-agency linkages with national government agencies for a more synergized delivery of government projects and services to the people.
To achieve this, a seminar-workshop was held recently to provide participants with knowledge and understanding of the different programs which are being implemented in Palawan.
The government programs presented and discussed in the two-day workshop were the cash grant scheme of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD); land distribution programs of the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR); environmental protection programs and functions of the Palawan Council for Sustainable Development (PCSD); community-based health services of Provincial Health Office (PHO); agriculture programs of Department of Agriculture (DA); and, the research and technology assistance of Department of Science and Technology (DOST).
Equipped with a deeper knowledge of these programs, WESCOM personnel involved in Civil Military Operations (CMO), in collaboration and partnership with these concerned agencies, can formulate an effective and efficient action plan in bringing the services provided by these programs to the people in line with the principles of the military’s Internal Peace and Security Plan (IPSP).
With a better inter-agency linkage with the implementers of these government programs, WESCOM hopes to conduct community outreach projects that are more responsive to the needs of the people in Palawan.
