Puerto Princesans File Falsification Case Against Recall Petitioner Alroben Goh

Puerto Princesa City, Feb. 02 CIO – Assisted by their counsel, Atty. Jean Lou N. Aguilar, an initial group of twenty voters of this city filed before the City Prosecutor’s Office twenty counts (20) of falsification cases against recall petitioner Alroben Goh.

It will be recalled that on March 17, 2014, Goh filed before the Office of the City Election Officer of Puerto Princesa City a recall petition against incumbent Mayor Lucilo Bayron for loss of confidence. In it Goh certified that he has caused the preparation of the Petition for Recall, and that the contents of the Petition are true based on his personal knowledge and on authentic records/documents.

The instant complainants however testified that they were not aware and vehemently deny that they signed any document pertaining to the recall elections or any support thereto; that, without their knowledge and consent, their names, addresses and imitated signatures were incorporated as part of the alleged thousands of signatures supporting the recall elections.

They said that the specimen from the signature sheet attached by respondent Goh in the petition for recall would show that it needs no expert witness to notice the wide difference in stroke, as well as the writing style. They accused Goh of  knowingly and intentionally introducing before the Commission on Elections their imitated signatures and alleged therein their support for a recall election against Mayor Bayron.

They strongly protested the allegation that they were supporting petitioners in the petition for recall and labeled as patently “false” their alleged participation in it. They concluded by stating that they never and will never pledge support to a Petition for Recall against Mayor Lucilo R. Bayron.

Attached in their complaint-affidavits were their specimen signatures, IDs/CTCs, and the signature sheets where their names appeared, among others.

Atty. Aguilar said that hundreds more have signified their readiness to file similar cases of falsification against Goh relative to the recall petition the latter initiated.
