The Palawan State University team has maintained the title as champion of the State Colleges and universities Athletic Association Regional Olympics 2013 hosted by Mindoro State College of Agriculture and Technology at Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro on January 10-15, 2013.
 
The PSU Bearcats smashed its rival teams by garnering 87 gold medals edging its closest opponent, the Cavite State University (CvSU) with 71 gold medals. Third overall is the Batangas State University (BatStateU) which obtained 27 gold medals. Western Philippines University made it to the fourth place gaining 25 gold medals and Romblon State University (RSU) on the fifth place with 23 gold medals.
 
Dr. Jeter S. Sespeñe, President and delegation Head is proud and honored that PSU retained the championship in this year’s Olympics.
 
Around 3,000 athletes, coaches, officials and delegation heads participated in the said sports competition. The PSU Bearcats competed with eleven SUCs in the region namely; Batangas State University (BatStateU), Cavite State University (CvSU), Laguna State Polytechnic University (LSPU), Marinduque State University (MSC), Mindoro State College of Agriculture and Technology (MinSCAT), Occidental Mindoro State College (OMSC), Romblon State University (RSU), Southern Luzon State University (SLSU), University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB), University of Rizal System (URS), and Western Philippines University (WPU).
 
The Bearcats garnered the golds in the following events; Arnis, Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, (women), Boxing, Chess, Lawn Tennis (Women), Swimming (Men and Women), Table Tennis (Men) and Taekwondo (Men).
