Puerto Princesa City (4 February) -- The Department of Trade and Industry Palawan office is hosting in coordination with the Philippine Center for Entrepreneurship (PCE) the Negosyo Seminar for One Town, One Product (OTOP) and the Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Palawan.
The one-day seminar aims to instill positive entrepreneurial mindset and know-how among the OTOP program MSMEs as well as potential entrepreneurs from Southern Mindanao to help them become smarter, enterprising, more innovative and competitive.
Negosyo Seminar (NegoSem) is scheduled on 18 February at the City Coliseum and is expected to be attended by 500 MSME-participants from the city and the local government units. The first 500 participants to confirm attendance will be given the book "21 Steps on How to Start Your Own Business".
DTI-Palawan office is looking forward to the participation in full force of the manufacturers in the province's OTOP municipalities namely Roxas, El Nido, Aborlan, Narra, Brooke's Point, San Vicente, Taytay, Quezon, Bataraza and Española. The local governments units in these municipalities have been supportive of the development of their OTOP.
DTI together with the PCE is working towards empowering and enabling these entrepreneurs and would-be entrepreneurs, giving them proper and adequate knowledge on the rudiments of putting up an enterprise.
Experts and successful entrepreneurs in the country will be sharing their excellent ideas and tips on finding business opportunities, marketing, product development and innovation. DTI Regional Director Joel Valera and DTI USEC Merly Cruz are arriving to be part of the activity.
Other partners of the NegoSem are the Palawan SMED Council and the city government. (PIA)
