TWO Puerto Princesans clashed in the finals of the Tennis singles boys elementary yesterday, April 9, 2008.
Homegrown talents, Francisco Santos III and Andre Alagao fought like two small but deadly Princesans in the championship event with Santos raising a head higher, 8-1.
Despite the fact that Santos is Alagao’s uncle, both young masters did not come short in showcasing their skills. Their sizzling moves and astonishing ball hitting amazed their sun dyed spectators. Feather light serves and enduring returns transpired throughout the match as Alagao came out short in stopping his opponent.
The game was a real heads-up play, impressing both the crowd and the officials.
According to Alagao, his uncle was a good opponent. He also learned to focus, and added, there are still other chances.
“I am happy that I won the championship game although I battled with my nephew,” the bashful Santos said. He added that he is not sure of winning in the national competition because of “stronger” opponents.
Santos said, “In order to be successful, train harder.”
